A new Commonplace site has now been created to provide a dedicated space where you can submit your ideas for walking and cycling improvements and help shape the future development of Surrey’s Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs).
If you would like to continue to post and view other people’s active travel suggestions, please visit our new site where you can also subscribe to be kept informed about news and updates: https://surreylcwip.commonplace.is/
The Surrey Covid Transport Map will be closed to further comments, however all the suggestions received have been captured so that we can continue to refer to them when we come to develop LCWIPs in different areas of the county.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your suggestions for walking and cycling improvements. We have received over 800 suggestions across these three areas.
Over the coming months we will continue to develop Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plans for each of these boroughs and the suggestions you provided will be important in helping us determine which routes or zones to prioritise.
Once these routes have been identified we will develop detailed proposals for improvements along them which we will present for public consultation in due course.
To keep up to date on progress please visit our plans to improve walking and cycling web page .
Surrey County Council is currently in the early stages of developing Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs) in Elmbridge, Runnymede and Spelthorne.
If you live in or often visit any of these areas, we would like your feedback on the local issues or barriers which make it difficult to walk or cycle to nearby destinations, and your suggestions on how you would like to see these improved.
If you have ideas to share, please add your comments to our interactive map by Sunday 13 June 2021 .
We will consider all comments received by this date when developing a prioritised list of routes for proposed improvement. The final list of routes in the LCWIPs will be informed by the suggestions received, current and forecast demand for walking and cycling journeys, and the scope to make meaningful improvements in these locations.
